Well yesterday, for the first time ever, they actually talked about homosexuality in an Arabic TV talk show on Dubai Tv Channel!

 

I was taking a shower, when my sister  called me to end it quickly and come out to see what they are talking about it.

 

The host was good, she seems to have done a good research, but the doctors she brought were not.

 

For example, she said that from her research, there is no way to alter sexual orientation, she had a very small ration of success, she said about 0.001%. While one of the doctors said that his info is 60-70%!!!!!!!! He said that homosexuals who wants to change can change!!! It is like an addiction, you have to have the will to do it!!  *ingnorant*

 

The doctor also tried to say that this is only a human issue, he said that we cant find homosexuality in other animals, but she countered him, she said that from her search, she found that homosexuality exits in some types of fish, and in sheeps, then she said that it probably because we played with the sheeps genes with the cloning stuff recently!!!!!!!

The doctor then changed him mind, and said yes, it also exists in monkeys, but far less than humans!! *jerk*

 

She gave a 10% statistics of males to be gay, and 6% of females, while the doctors say no it is less than 2%. They said a 2% is a normal ratio of any other human diffieciency!!!

 

They also discussed the reasons, they said that no one knows the reason of homosexuality, but they insist that it can be changed.

 

They talked about the internet, recent changes in technology, and the infleuence of the west on us the Arabs, they put part of the blame on that for having more gays in the arab world!!!

 

She brought an arabic lesbian (I was amazed for that), but with a mask, she talked about her homosexuality, and how she tried to marry a man but that didnt work for her, and she divorced and back now to her girlfriend.

 

A gay man also talked from lebanon, he said that he always knew that he is gay since his childhood.

 

And at the end of the show, she said that the govenment of the US has opened the door for homosexuals to seek asylim to the united states!

 

I think that this was a bold step from the host, while I was annoyed of the doctors she brought, it was a good start for opening the door for more discussion about homosexuality. I wanted to call and participate but there was no phone numbers on the screen.

They at least said that we *exist* and homosexuality *is not a choice*, which is excellent for now."
