Tourism To Israel

Israel – the holy land for the three monotheistic religions - the Jews, Christians and Moslems.  Israel, though a small country, is a land of contrasts.  Both the holy land and holiday land.  Full of ancient historical sites, religious shrines, and modern tourist facilities.  A country full of exciting places, four seas each with it’s own special personality, and a mosaic of peoples from different lands and traditions that provide the background to one of the most fascinating destinations in our glorious middle east.

If it’s history you are looking for, archeological sites, religious sites, an active dynamic GLBT community, fun in the sun, or a bit of each, you can find them all in Israel.

Passport information:

Most nationalities obtain visas free of charge upon arrival to Ben Gurion International Airport.  The land borders with Egypt and Jordan are open, and entry visas for most nationalities are also issued on the spot free of charge. There is a regular ferryboat service between Cyprus and Israel. There are no direct border crossings with Syria and Lebanon. For nationals of countries without diplomatic relations with Israel, you should check with the nearest Israeli embassy.   There are a few nationalities that must apply for visas in advance (most Asian and African nationalities fall into this category). If you plan to continue to Syria or Lebanon, be sure to ask the Israeli passport control authorities not to stamp your passport.  They are used to this request and is not a problem – but be sure that you ask before that stamp comes down on your passport.  Security upon entry and exit from Israel is strict, tight and quite efficient.  Be prepared to be asked many questions, sometimes the same questions two and three times by various security officers.  The procedure is often quite time consuming and nerve-racking.  Just relax, answer the questions, cooperate, and get it over with.
