The Hashemite
Kingdom of Jordan – a young country with a history that dates back
to Biblical times. A bridge between the civilizations, between the
desert and the sea, between the east and the west. Built upon
layers of history is a country of beauty and contradictions. Desert
canyons, hills, valleys, castles, the geological phenomena that is
Wadi Rum, the Nabatean capital of Petra, to the Red Sea.

Passport
information: |
|
Most nationalities can obtain a tourist visa upon
arrival to Queen Alia International Airport. If traveling overland
between Egypt, Syria, Israel and Jordan, visas can be purchased
easily at the border for the price of JD10.00 (USD15.00). Note that
between Egypt and Jordan a visa can be purchased at the Aqaba port.
Between Syria and Jordan, visas can be purchased at both border
crossings. Between Israel and Jordan, visas can be purchase at the
Arava/Yitzhak Rabin crossing in the south and the Sheik
Hussein/Jordan River crossing in the north. It is not possible
purchase an entry visa to Jordan if you are entering Jordan via the
Allenby/King Hussein Bridge (near Jericho). You must have a valid
entry visa to Jordan already in your passport. If you do not have
the visa, you must proceed north to the Sheik Hussein border
crossing (one hour north). There are a few nationalities that must
apply for a visa in advance (most Asian and African nationalities
fall into this category). Israeli stamps in your passport are not a
problem. However, if you plan to continue to Syria or Lebanon, be
sure that neither the Israelis nor Jordanians stamp your passport at
the overland border.
