Tourism To Lebanon

Lebanon – synonymous with war, conflict, strife.  Just the name of this amazing country stirs up ones imagination.  Well…time to move into the new millennium and to refresh your thoughts and idea.  Prior to the civil war (1975-1990), Lebanon was knows as the Switzerland of the mid east, and it’s capital, Beirut, was known as the Paris of the Middle East.  The new century has seen a renewal of Lebanon – and she deserves her title back.  Lebanon 2003 is the place to visit.  And…it’s so easy.

Large bustling cities, scenic villages, archaeological sites, religious sites (Christian, Moslem, Jewish), history, culinary delights, wild nightlife, national park reserves – all this in the country of Lebanon – small in size but huge in sites to see. From the noise of Beirut to the cedars of the Chouf  Mountains to the ruins of Baalbeck to the tombs of our Biblical forefathers.

Passport information:

Easy and to the point – Visitors from most countries (USA, Europeans included) can obtain a tourist visa upon arrival to Beirut International Airport. In the arrivals terminal simply look on the large chart, find your country, pay the fee, and that’s it…Welcome to Lebanon!  For Israeli passport holders reading this article, if you missed “Uncle Shlomo’s” all expense paid tour of Lebanon back in the last century (accommodations, transportation, and all meals were included in their package), you’ll just have to wait until peace is signed.  Not to despair, at one time the pyramids and Petra seemed like a dream.

Only one detail that all tourists must pay strict attention to.  You will not be able to enter Lebanon if you have any Israeli stamps inside your passport.  Your should arrival to Lebanon “Israeli-free” – no Israeli stamps in your passport, no Israeli maps, currency, newspapers, or plane tickets to/from Israel.   A small inconvenience for the rewarding experience you will certainly have once you’re here in Lebanon.
